Using a Hercules DJ Console MK2 with DJ-1800
The Hercules DJ Console MK2 -
http://www.hercules.com/uk/DJ-Music/
- is a small but full-featured DJ controller
and 4-channel input / 4-channel output sound card. It includes 2 sets of controls, which can be used to control
CD Players 1 and 2 in DJ-1800. They can even be used to control DJ-1800 when it is in the background. The
Console also features an amplified headphone output and a microphone ‘talkover’ input.
To use a Hercules DJ Console MK2 – or “HDJC” - with DJ-1800 v3.0 or later under OS X, first install the “Mac OS X
driver package for DJ Console MK2”. This documentation has been written using v3.0 of the driver package
(released 2006-12-05), which is available from the Hercules support web site:
http://ts.hercules.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=2&fid=28&pid=200&cid=1
Once the drivers are installed, plug the HDJC into your Mac, and then launch DJ-1800. The lights on the HDJC
will flash on and off to indicate that the console has been recognized by DJ-1800.
Note:
This documentation describes the set up process for the “Hercules DJ Console MK2”. If you are using the
original “Hercules DJ Console (Mac Edition)”, or the “Hercules DJ Control MP3”, please see the appropriate
documentation for those controllers, which can be downloaded from
http://www.dj1800.com/controlhardware.php
