3 Mounting
3.1 Overview
This chapter describes the mounting of the product.
The following steps must be performed only by
qualified personnel.

3.2 Items supplied
The following items are included in the standard items
supplied:

plug (Type F)
EIB 742 : connector for 24 V connection (X6),
without cable
EIB 749 : connector for connecting an external
remote reset switch, without cable
4 adhesive feet

Unpacking
Open the top lid of the box
Remove the packaging materials
Unpack the contents
Check the delivery for completeness
Check the delivery for damage
If damage occurred during transit:
Keep the packaging materials for inspection
Contact HEIDENHAIN or the machine
manufacturer
This applies also if damage occurred to
requested replacement parts during transit.
In case of damage in transit
Have the shipping agent confirm the damage
Keep the packaging materials for inspection
Notify the sender of the damage
If necessary, contact your distributor for mediation
Contact your HEIDENHAIN distributor or OEM for
replacement parts

3.3 Installation
The product can be mounted to a countertop or installed in
a 19-inch electrical cabinet.
NOTICE
Failure of fan!
A fan failure may result in overheating of the product,
and therefore to malfunctions or destruction.
Ensure that the product may be easily accessed
during operation
Ensure proper ventilation
Ensure that the vents are free from obstructions,
maintain a distance > 15 mm and do not block the
airflow
The fan can be monitored by interrogating a
status word that can report a failure of the
fan. The temperature of the product can be
interrogated and is monitored internally.

Manual for Application Development.
If the product is placed on a surface, the
included adhesive feet should be mounted in
order to prevent the product from moving.
Mounting the product on a countertop
Threaded holes in the housing bottom enable you to secure
the product with four M3 screws on a countertop.

Installing the product in a 19-inch electrical cabinet
(optional)
The product can be installed in a 19-inch electrical cabinet
by using a mounting bracket (for information on the
mounting attitude, see "F" on the front fold-out page).
A height unit is required for the installation. For information
on ordering the mounting bracket, see "Accessories",
Page 23.
Remove the adhesive feet from the product, if
applicable.
Fasten the product to the mounting bracket using four
M3 x 4 screws. The screws are not included in the items
supplied.
For the hole locations, see "K", Page 134.
Insert the mounting bracket with the product in the
electrical cabinet and fasten it using four screws.
Two products fit next to each other on a
mounting bracket.
NOTICE
Damage due to improper screws
Damage can be caused to the product by using improper
screws for fastening.
