BATTERY & CHARGER

BATTERY

We recommend that you use deep-cycle batteries that are sealed and maintenance free for

your power wheelchair. Both sealed lead-acid (SLA) and gel cell are deep-cycle batteries and

are similar in performance. Deep-cycle batteries are specifically designed to provide power,

drain down, and then accept a relatively quick recharge. Lead-acid batteries should be

charge as often as possible.

Specification of the battery that we recommend:

Type:

  Size:

  Voltage:

  Amp Hours:

Deep –cycle sealed lead-acid or gel cell

  62Ah

  12V each

  62 amp hours

Depending on the use, terrain and driving conditions, the batteries will provide a range of

12-18 miles of travel. However, even if the power chair is not in use, we recommend that the

batteries be charged periodically.

Note:

Do not use any automotive batteries. They are not designed to handle a long, deep

discharge and also are unsafe for use in power chairs.
