Both bus protocols are connected via the same terminals. The connections at KL4 have
two terminals (Fig. 7.18), so that you can route the bus to the next node.
Set the bus protocol in the deactivated state via switch S2; it is read in by the AED when
the supply voltage is applied. Use shielded, twisted-pair cables as connecting cables.
The position of the bus termination switch is based on the position of the AED in the bus
system. Bus termination may only be switched on at the end points of the bus (max. 2
termination resistors active), also see section 7.1, page 26. If necessary, slide the bus
termination switch on the AED to on. The factory setting is off.
The factory-set bus address is 63 and the bit rate is 125kBit/s. Change these settings
via the appropriate bus commands.
