3.8 PIVOTING RAILS
3.8.1 Repositioning the Rail
The chair rail has two positions, raised and
lowered. Both positions lock the rail into
place.
Lowering the Pivoting Rail
Grasp the top of the rail, push or pull outward
on the black release plunger (Figure 3.8-1), and
pull the top of the rail toward the head end of
the chair (Figure 3.8-4); rotate the rail all the
way down until the release plunger locks back
into place (Figure 3.8-3).
Raising the Pivoting Rail
Grasp the top of the rail, pull outward on the
black release plunger (Figure 3.8-3), and lift
the rail all the way up until the release plunger
locks back into place (Figure 3.8-2).
WARNING: When patient is seated in the
chair, ensure the pivoting rails are up and
the patient is secured with safety straps.
WARNING: The chair has a warning label
located on both pivoting rails indicating a
pinch point between seat section and side
rail.
