Inspect area to be trimmed and remove any wire, cord, or string-like
objects which could become entangled in the rotating line or spool. Be
particularly careful to avoid any wire which might be bent outwardly into
the path of the tool, such as barbs at the base of a chain link fence.
• To switch the trimmer on, push the lock-off button and squeeze the
switch trigger.
• With the unit on, grasp both handles and angle unit, slowly
swinging the trimmer side to side.
• To switch the trimmer off, release the trigger switch.
• Restarting the machine after complete stop will feed the spool line
automatically. Do not bump unit on ground to feed the line.

note:
Trimming tips
Keep the trimmer tilted toward the area being cut, this is the most
efficient cutting area.
The string trimmer cuts when passing the unit from left to right. This will
avoid throwing debris at the operator.
Use the tip of the string to do the cutting, do not force string head into
uncut grass.
Wire and picket fences cause extra string wear, even breakage. Stone
and brick walls, curbs and wood may wear string rapidly.
Avoid trees and shrubs. Tree bark, wood moldings, siding and fence
posts can easily be damaged by the strings.
