Module Combiner Reject Load RF Detectors
The RF Detectors for the circulator reject loads in the PA Module combiner are set up in
the factory and require no further adjustment. This means they can be replaced without
any adjustment or calibration.
The RF Detectors for the circulator reject loads in the PA Module combiner are
calibrated for a 4Vdc output with 50mW applied to the input. Making this calibration in
the field will require the use of an exciter and a digital power meter with power sensor
that will handle more than 1 watt average power.
As of Mid year 2002, PA cabinets started implementing the new style PA module
combiner and 8 way detectors. As far as operation is concerned there is no difference
from the previous combiner and detectors. However, this changes the calibration
procedures for the module combiner reject load detectors. Figure 5-4 shows a rear view
of the 2 PA Cabinets.
Figure 5-4(a) shows the original cabinet with the old style combiner and 8 way
detectors located at the top and bottom of the cabinet. Figure 5-4(b) shows the new
cabinet with the new style combiner and the new 8 way detectors.
If your cabinet looks like Figure 5-4(a) the proceed to “5.5.5.1 Old Style Reject Load
Detector Calibration“. If your cabinet looks like Figure 5-4(b) then proceed to 5.5.5.2
New Style Reject Load Detector Calibration.
