Effects of Vibration
on a Scale
•
Plants have a lot of machinery operating around the clock. In this
environment, machinery generates a considerable amount of vibra-
tion of varying frequencies. Weigh process electrical equipment is
no exception. Vibration is transmitted by the load sensor(s) as volt-
age to the controller. The result is inexact weight readings.
•
WAVERSAVER is a combination of hardware and firmware which
effectively eliminates the effects of vibration (voltage). WAVER-
SAVER rejects the effects of vibration (.025 Hz and above) and
extracts the true weight signal. WAVERSAVER performs these
functions at high speed and can be adjusted to reject signals above
7.5 with virtually instantaneous response.
Configuring
WAVERSAVER
Step 1. The Default Jumper Setting is W4.
Step 2. Disconnect the power cord.
Step 3. Make sure that all ESD precautions have been taken before
working on the controller.
Step 4. Use a phillips screw driver and remove the two (2) pan head
machine screws that fasten the rear panel to the extrusion.
(See Fig. 4-14)
Step 5. Gently pull out the rear panel with the top and bottom panel
and printed circuit boards attached.
