Frequently Asked Questions
Q: No signal is detected by my display monitor(s).
A: Try the following actions:
1.
Power Cycle Monitor
2.
Try Disconnecting and Reconnecting cable
3.
Restart System
4.
Try a Shorter Cable
IMPORTANT : When connecting appliance to monitors via DisplayPort (Not using DP to HDMI adapters), to avoid any
issues with displays, it is highly recommended to disable any Power-Saving features your monitors have via the monitor
settings menu
Q: Within the 'Display Settings' page of the AWP, what is the 'Lock Displays' feature?
A: 'Lock Displays' allows a signal to always be present to display monitors even when the monitor is off or fully
disconnected from the appliance. This allows monitor displays to be turned off at night for example without the desktop
canvass and its open window applications moving position.
Q: Within the 'Display Settings' page of the AWP, 'Lock Displays' is not working as expected.
A: Try the following actions:
1.
Ensure display monitor(s) are NOT television screens, TV screens require hot plug re-detection after losing signal,
the appliance must be rebooted.
2.
Ensure any dongles or signal conversions between the display appliance and the display monitor(s) support this
feature.
3.
Try disabling 'Lock Displays' pressing 'Apply' and then re-applying the 'Lock Displays' toggle switch with a second
'Apply'.
Q: At the bottom of my decoded and displayed stream, I see 'sparkly pixels'.
A: Older IP camera streams would embed proprietary data within the video stream. The decoding of this data by
hardware acceleration is reflected in display artifacts commonly found at the end of the video stream / bottom of the
window. Contact support for registry edits to allow the cropping of any erroneous data such as edge artifacts.
Q: How can I create a region that spans more than one display monitor.
A: This is best performed by support. Inform support of the rectangles that will make up the display appliance, these can
be a fraction of a single display monitor or span multiple monitors. Regions reflect the area controlled in the user
interface and the area to which a window item can be raised/maximised.
