Cooking zones and sensors
Cooking zone/area is not
heating
If the ‘ ’ symbol flashes in the heat setting
display, there is no heating. This may be
caused by the following:
– The cookware is not placed on the correct
cooking zone/area.
– The cookware being used is not suitable
for induction hobs.
– The cookware is too small or is not centred
on the cooking zone/area.
– You lifted the pot from the cooking zone/
area. As soon as you replace the pot on
the cooking zone/area, the selected heat
setting will be displayed again.
Boost function
The boost function is advisable e.g. for rapid
searing or boiling water. It is also suitable for
fast boiling and continued cooking at a re-
duced temperature.
The boost function is available for all cooking
zones/areas.
When the boost function is active the cooking
zone/area heats up at maximum power for 5
minutes. After this time the cooking zone/area
returns to the original heat setting. If the orig-
inal heat setting was “
0
”, the cooking zone/
area heats up to heat setting “
9
”.
1. Touch the sensor of the cooking zone/
area for which you would like to activate
the boost function.
The heat setting display of the cooking
zone or area flashes.

The suitable heat setting
The following list shows which heat settings
are suitable for which use. The precise set-
ting depends, however, on various factors,
for example the type of cookware and the
quantity of food. For this reason, variations
are possible.
1–2: Carefully warming up small amounts
of food, melting chocolate, butter and
delicate foods.
Light simmering/boiling.
Warming up slowly.
3–4: Reheating food.
Continuous cooking. Cooking rice.
5–6: Roasting.
7–8: Searing meat.
9/P: Rapid searing. Deep-frying.
Bringing water/soup to the boil.
Pause function
You can use the pause function to interrupt
the heating process on all cooking zones/ar-
eas. During the pause, all sensors except the
pause and the On/Off sensor are locked and
display the symbol ‘
’.
The pause function remains active for no
longer than 10 minutes, after which the hob
switches itself off.
