Preparation
Before getting started
• Read chapter "Safety" on
page EN-4, in particular the
safety instructions.
Suitable location
• Position the appliance on a
firm, level, dry, waterproof and
durable surface.
• Place the appliance so that it
and the mains cord are inac-
cessible to young children.
• Do not set up the appliance di-
rectly beside a cooker or other
heat source.
• Leave at least 3 cm of space
next to and behind the appli-
ance and at least 15 cm of
space above the appliance as
it releases heat into the environ-
ment.
• Do not set up the appliance di-
rectly below kitchen wall units
because steam is emitted from
the top.
• Do not place the appliance near
water taps or sinks, as water
may get into the housing and
damage the appliance.
• Lay the mains cord so that it
will not be damaged by sharp
edges or by coming into contact
with hot surfaces, e.g. electric
hobs.
• Position the appliance in an
area which is protected from
frost. The appliance could be
damaged if the water inside it
freezes.
Cleaning before use
1. Remove all pieces of packaging
from the appliance.

2. Open the lid (2) of the water
tank (3).
3. Remove the filter basket (1) and
clean it with washing-up water.
