Seal the wall around the nipple
with waterproof sealant.
Failure to seal the wall can lead
to possible water damage.
28496XX1 Installation
With 27438XX1 short cast showerarm:
Shorten the gray rubber boot before installation
(1).
Screw the showerhead to the showerarm by hand.
Finish tightening with a 19 mm wrench (2).
27438XX1 Installation
Install a 1/2" NPT male nipple, extending 5/8"
outside the surface of the finished wall.
With 27411XX3 showerarm:
Slide the boot onto the showerarm (1).
Screw the showerhead to the arm by hand, then
finish tightening with a 19 mm wrench (2).
Pull the boot down to cover the joint (3).
Wrap the nipple with Teflon tape.
Install the shower arm and flange.
