Managing the 802.11b/g Radio
Overview
The Dolphin 7600 has an optional 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) radio that uses Direct Sequence
Spread Spectrum (DSSS) technology. The radio is interoperable with other 802.11b/g Wi-Fi-compliant products including access
points (APs), PCs via PC card adapters and other wireless portable devices.
Server-Assigned IP Addresses
Please note that all server-assigned IP addresses use Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).
Activating the 802.11b/g Radio
To activate the 802.11b/g radio, single-tap the
WLAN Manager
icon
. (The “X” appears over the icon when the radio is
deactivated.) Select
Activate
on the popup menu.
The WLAN Manager loads. When the WLAN Manager is finished loading, the X is removed from the WLAN Manager icon and
the yellow bars indicate that the radio is transmitting
.
Activating the radio automatically disables the wireless zero-config (WZC) feature of Windows CE!
Deactivating the 802.11b/g Radio
When you deactivate the 802.11b/g radio, it no longer transmits an RF signal. To deactivate the radio, tap
Deactivate
on the
WLAN Manager menu.
Note: The WLAN Manager also displays operating statistics for the 802.11b/g radio; see
