JETanchor GPS antenna
JETanchor systems require a dedicated GPS antenna. The required GPS antenna and a 15 m cable are
supplied with each JETanchor system.
Due to configuration and performance variations between different types and brands of GPS
antenna, only the supplied GPS antenna can be used.
Do not substitute the GPS antenna for any other type of antenna.
The maximum GPS antenna cable length is 15 m. Contact your local HamiltonJet representative for
advice if the cable length must be more than 15 m.
The antenna must be installed:
In a location that is suitable for unimpeded reception of satellite data.
Where operating temperatures will fall within -30°C to +70°C (-22°F to +158°F).
With the unit's recessed arrow pointing forward and aligned the vessel's longitudinal axis (
►
page 4-8).
In a position that is clear of radio transmitting devices (

page 4-8).
Correct orientation of GPS antenna
Underside of the GPS antenna.
The recessed arrow

must point forward and be aligned
parallel with the vessel's longitudinal axis
[2]
. Alignment
/- 2 degrees yields good performance, but within
+/- 5 degrees is acceptable.
Figure 9:
GPS antenna orientation
Relocating or re-orientating the JETanchor control module (JACM) or GPS antenna after the
commissioning process can cause vessel control stability issues when JETanchor is
engaged. If the JETanchor control module or GPS antenna is moved or re-orientated after
commissioning, the JETanchor commissioning procedure must be repeated.
