4.3.4 Corridors, small rooms and corner
rooms
If an increased number of false alarms is to be

- is to be preferred in corridors/rooms smaller
than 6 m² or kitchens that serve as escape routes.
Corridors and rooms with a width ≤ 1 m:
the ideal installation location is on the ceiling
centrally between the walls.
Corridors with a width ≤ 3 m:
• in corridors with a maximum width of 3 m, the
distance between two smoke detectors must not
exceed 15 m.
• The distance between the detector and the end
face of the corridor must not exceed 7.5 m.
• It should be noted that in corner and intersection
areas the smoke detector must be mounted in
the mitre line.
