Installation on Windows XP x64 Edition:
The PCI card is installed automatically after Windows XP
has started up completely. The message “New network
device installed” then appears. If you want to setup a
FireWire network connection, click the displayed icon
and follow the Network Wizard’s instructions.
You can check whether the controller has been installed
successfully by selecting
Start -> Settings -> Performance
and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware -> Device
Manager
.
The following entries must appear without yellow
exclamation marks:
IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers
• VIA OHCI-compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Network adapters
• 1394 Net Adapter
Installation on Windows 2000:
Windows 2000 installs the FireWire DV Kit
automatically.
You can check whether the controller has been installed
successfully by selecting
Start -> Settings -> Control
Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager
.
The following entry must appear without a yellow excla-
mation mark:
IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers
• VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
