Press   the   button   (labelled   2   in   the   diagram)   on   the   Smoke   
Detector.   The   panel   will   beep   twice   indicating   the   detector   has   
been   accepted   

 

Press   the   ‘learn’   button   on   the   back   of   the   Halo   panel   a   second   
time   to   exit   ‘learn’   mode   

 

LED   sequence   should   be   green-­‐off-­‐green   indicating   normal   
operation   

Your   Smoke   Detector   has   now   been   added   to   the   Halo   system.   

You   will   now   be   able   to   see   this   device   in   your   account   on   the   My   Equipment   page.   

Placing   your   device

Check   location:

      

Smoke   detectors   will   operate   at   up   to   30   metres   away   from   the   

control   panel.      Before   fixing   your   detector   permanently   in   place,   you   should   first   
test   that   it   will   work   correctly   in   the   location   you   have   chosen.   To   do   this,   follow   
these   steps:   

a.

 

Press   ‘learn’   button   on   the   back   of   panel   to   place   the   panel   into   ‘learn’   
mode.      This   also   functions   as   a   'walk-­‐test'   facility.      Take   your   Smoke   
Detector   to   your   chosen   location   and   press   and   release   the   button   
(labelled   2   on   the   diagram)   on   the   device.      Your   panel   will   emit   a   two-­‐
tone   beep   to   confirm   the   signal   has   been   received   if   it   is   within   effective   
range.   

b.

 

Press   the   ‘learn’   button   on   the   control   panel   a   second   time   to   cancel   the   
test   process   when   you   are   satisfied   with   the   location   you   have   chosen.

Mark   the   fixing   location:      Using   the   mounting   bracket   as   a   template,   mark   and   
then   drill   two   holes   for   the   fixing   screws.      If   fitting   to   brickwork   /   plasterboard,   
insert   the   2   supplied   wall   plugs   into   these   holes.   

3.

 

Fit   the   mounting   bracket:      Using   the   2   screws   supplied,   fix   the   mounting   bracket   
in   place,   with   the   two   hooks   facing   downwards.

Fit   and   lock   the   Smoke   Detector   in   place:      Locate   the   single   line   mark   on   the   
Smoke   Detector   body   and   line   it   up   with   one   of   the   downward-­‐facing   hooks   on   
the   bracket.      After   both   hooks   fit   into   the   two   mounting   holes   on   the   detector
