NSPECTION
Caution:
Always wear an ESD strap when working on the Shaker.
The shroud is the portion of the Shaker including the bag tray and bag pins which
actively moves when the Shaker is in operation. It provides a platform on which
to mount and secure the bag during weighing as well as providing a "shroud" over
the inner workings of the Shaker to prevent unwanted dust and dirt from entering
the mechanical portions of the Shaker.
1.
Examine the overall appearance of the shroud. It should be free of any
cracks, gouges, or missing pieces of plastic. The shroud bosses should be
secure and should show no evidence of previous repair. The shroud
should be replaced if the shroud boss is severely damaged, loose, or bro-
ken off of the inside of the shroud completely. The old bag pins and their
mounting hardware may be retained and reinstalled in the new shroud if
not worn or damaged.
2.
Inspect the bag pins on the front of the shroud for tightness by attempting
to further tighten the screws while holding the pins with soft-jawed pliers
or a similar device. Check the spacing of the pins by placing a
Haemonetics certified calibration weight over the pins. The pins can be
adjusted by loosening the screws, resetting the pins to the proper spacing,
and tightening the screws while holding the pins with soft-jawed pliers.
