 7 sc Turbidimeter to SS7 sc-HST

1.

If upgrading a standard SS7 sc (or older) turbidimeter, remove the hose fittings from
the slant tube and the bulkhead adapters along with the hoses inside the unit. Then
remove the bulkhead adapters at the bottom of the unit and proceed to step

2

If upgrading an older SE (severe environment) turbidimeter, complete the steps above
and then disconnect power to the heater (if existing).

a.

Remove the heater and the control box and disconnect the wiring to the power
source.

b.

Remove the mounting screws from the electrical control box, the heater, and the
adapter to the enclosure. Discard the screws.

c.

Plug the hole used for the electrical connections with a small, oil-tight hole seal.

Install the ¾-in. gray PVC bulkhead fittings in the new hole as shown in

Figure 2

.

4.

Install the white polypropylene bulkhead fittings in the bottom of the unit as shown in

Figure 2

.

5.

Install the new (black) hose adapter fittings using Teflon tape and tighten them
properly with a wrench. Orient the ¾-in. elbows as shown in

Figure 2

.

6.

Install the hoses between the slant tube and the bulkhead fitting on the bottom of the
unit. Attach the hoses with the stainless steel clamps.

Note:

Hose is furnished in one piece. Cut each piece to desired length.

7.

Install the ¾-in. hose barb elbow in the vent cover and the straight hose fitting in the
PVC bulkhead fitting leading to the flow multiplier. Teflon tape is not required.

8.

Loosen the screws that hold the light source in place before installing the vent cover.
