Prepare for storage
Before short-term storage (three hours or less), flush the flow cell assembly and tubing. Refer to

on page 11. Keep the flow cell assembly full of distilled or
deionized water to prevent air locks and the collection of particles on the parts.
Before long-term storage, remove and clean the flow cell assembly. Do steps

Maintenance
Clean the instrument
Clean the exterior of the instrument with a moist cloth and a mild soap solution and then wipe the
instrument dry as necessary.

C A U T I O N
Chemical exposure hazard. Obey laboratory safety procedures and wear all of the personal protective
equipment appropriate to the chemicals that are handled. Refer to the current safety data sheets
(MSDS/SDS) for safety protocols.
N O T I C E
Do not to touch or scratch the flow cell. Contamination or scratches on the glass can cause measurement errors.
Clean the flow cell assembly before initial use and as necessary to remove contamination.

Remove and disassemble the flow cell assembly. Refer to

Clean the glass parts as follows:
a.
Clean the internal and external surfaces of the glass parts with a laboratory glass-cleaning
detergent.
b.
Fully rinse the glass parts many times with distilled or deionized water.
Note: Steam sterilize the tubing, flow cells, and caps in the flow cell assembly if necessary.
c.
For low-range turbidity samples or dilution water measurements, clean the internal and
external surfaces of the glass parts with 1:1 hydrochloric acid.
