This section explains routine cleaning and maintenance for the sampler.
4.1 Routine Cleaning
4.1.1 Cleaning the Sampler
Turn off the transfer pump (if under pump flow) and close the valve in the inlet
pipe before cleaning.
Clean the sampler periodically, once every two months, to prevent bacterial
growth in the sample chamber and other wetted parts. Use a mild algaecide
detergent and soft brush when cleaning the sample chamber and all wetted
parts. Rinse all parts thoroughly with water.
Remove and clean the sample dipper arm and weir plate and reassemble.
4.1.2 Cleaning the Sampler Containers
Clean the sample container(s) after every sample program to prevent
cross-contamination between samples. Clean the bottles using a brush and
water with a mild detergent, followed by a fresh water rinse and a distilled
water rinse.
4.2 Lubrication/Oiling
The sampler does not require routine lubrication and oiling. The motor is
lubricated and sealed at the factory and does not require additional lubrication
for the life of the unit. The factory fills and seals the refrigerator oil reservoir
with the highest quality lubricant; no additional oil is required.
4.3 Routine Refrigerator Maintenance
Once every six months, vacuum the condenser cooling fins on the bottom of
the sampler cabinet. Remove the front grill to vacuum the condenser cooling
fins.
