The Pour-Thru cell can be used with Hach chemistries provided a 25 mL sample
is analyzed. Exceptions are noted in
.
The Pour-Thru cell can be used with the following Hach chemistries, but special
care must be taken to rinse the cell with deionized water between samples.
The Pour-Thru cell can also be used to run Nitrogen, Ammonia, Nessler Method
and TKN chemistries. Clean the cell by pouring a few sodium thiosulfate
pentahydrate crystals into the cell. Rinse out the crystals with deionized water.
2.11.1 Cleaning the Pour-Thru Cell
Check the cell occasionally for an accumulation of film on the windows. If the
windows appear dirty or hazy, or if bubbles form in the cell, pour 50 mL of a
detergent solution into the cell. Let it soak for several minutes. Rinse thoroughly
with deionized water. Use a soft cloth to clean the sample cell windows. Paper
towels and other paper products may scratch the windows.
Note:
Do not use solvents (e.g. acetone) to clean the Pour-Thru Cell. A dilute acid solution can be
used for cleaning. Rinse thoroughly with deionized water.
