Bar Length Reset Procedure

3.1.9

Bar Setup - Charging Tray Angle Adjustment

The charging tray holds the supply of bar stock for the load fingers to pick up and move
onto the transfer tray. Use the adjustment handle under the tray to adjust the tray angle.

F3.9:

[1] Charging Tray Angle-Adjustment Handle

1.

Turn the adjustment handle under the charging tray to adjust the feed angle. For
most round stock, the charging tray angle should be approximately 5 degrees above
horizontal.

2.

Type this test program into the lathe control and watch the Bar Feeder operation.
Make sure that bars feed reliably from the tray into the feed mechanism. You do not
need to include the comments in parentheses:

G105 Q9 (Load Bar Stock) ;
G105 Q8 (Unload Bar Stock) ;

3.

If necessary, adjust the tray angle. Increase the angle if the bars do not feed reliably.
Decrease the angle if the bars stack.

3.2

Bar Length Reset Procedure

If a bar feed does not complete successfully because of an EMERGENCY STOP or an
alarm, the Bar Feeder can lose the current bar length and you need to reset it.

1.

Enter

MDI

 mode.

2.

Press

[V]

, and then

[HANDLE JOG]

3.

Use the jog handle to control the V Axis until the bar is at the reference position.

4.

Type

G105 Q1 ;

 in

MDI

, and then press

[CYCLE START]

.

This resets the bar length and pushes the bar to its initial push-out length.
