Appendix D Cooling system 

The cooling system of the switch includes air vents in the chassis, fan trays, and fans of power modules. 

To guarantee effective operation of this cooling system, you must consider the site ventilation design 

when you plan the installation site for the switch. 

S7502E-XS cooling system 

You must install two LSQM1HFANSCB fan trays for the S7502E-XS switches. 
When the LSQM1HFANSCB fan trays are used, cool air flows in through the air vents in the network 

port-side panel and the power module panels, circulates through the chassis and the power modules, 
and exhausts through the air vents in the fan tray panels, as shown in 

Figure 56

.

S7504E-XS cooling system 

You must install two LSQM1BFANSCB fan trays for the S7504E-XS switch. 
When LSQM1BFANSCB fan trays are used, cool air flows in through the air vents in the network 

port-side panel and the power module panels, circulates through the chassis and the power modules, 

and exhausts through the air vents in the fan tray panels, as shown in 

Figure 57

.
