CAUTION:

Select fan trays and power supplies with airflow directions that meet the ventilation requirements
at the installation site. As a best practice, make sure the power supplies and fan trays have the
same airflow direction.
•
Do not install fan trays of different models on the same switch. To guarantee adequate heat
dissipation, install five fan trays of the same model on the switch.
•
Do not install power supplies of different models on the same switch. As a best practice, install
two power supplies of the same model on the switch for 1+1 power supply redundancy.

When the switch has two power supplies in 1+1 redundancy, you can replace one of them without
powering off the switch. To avoid device damage and body injury, make sure the power supply to be
replaced is powered off before you replace it.
