Loop Prevention
Overview
Background
The loop detection mechanism performs periodic checks for Layer 2 loops. The mechanism
immediately generates a log message when a loop occurs so that you are promptly notified to
adjust network connections and configurations.

Loop detection
—When the system detects a loop on a port, it does not take any actions on
the port, but it will display a red icon for the port on the port state pane.
