Connect the DB-9 connector (female) of the console cable to the RS-232 serial port on the
configuration terminal and the RJ-45 connector to the console port of the router.

Setting configuration terminal parameters
To configure and manage the router through the console port, you must run a terminal emulator
program, TeraTermPro or PuTTY, on your PC. You can use the emulator program to connect a
network device, a Telnet site, or an SSH site. For more information about the terminal emulator
programs, see the user guides for these programs.
The following are the required terminal settings:

Connecting the power cord
1.
Make sure the router is reliably grounded.
2.
Connect one end of the power cord to the AC-input receptacle on the router. Use a bail latch to
secure the plug of the power cord in place.
3.
Connect the other end of the power cord to the AC power source.
