Mounting the antenna on a ceiling 

1.

 

Drill an 18 mm (0.71 in) diameter hole in the ceiling where you want to mount the antenna. See 
callout 1 in 

Figure 6

2.

 

Remove the flat washer (callout 5 in 

Figure 6

) from the antenna. 

3.

 

Thread the antenna connector and cable through the hole you drilled in step 1 until the base of the 
antenna is flush with the ceiling. 

4.

 

From above the ceiling, thread the antenna connector and cable through the opening on the split 
flat washer. 

5.

 

Thread the split flat washer through the antenna’s thread and fasten it until the antenna is secured 
in place.

Recommended cable 

H3C recommends that you use a high-quality, low-loss cable with the antenna. Coaxial cable loses 

efficiency as the frequency increases, causing signal loss. Keep the cable as short as possible because 

cable length also causes signal loss (the longer the run, the greater the loss).
