II /   POWER SUPPLY – STARTING

•

The GYSMI 142DV can be plugged to 115V or 230V (50-60Hz) network.

•

This product is protected against plus or minus variations of input voltage due to
variations of main supply or of power generators

.

•

The starting is executing by the rotation of the potentiometer on the chosen current
(stop is working on the “0A” position of the potentiometer).

III /   WELDING WITH COVERED ELECTRODE (MMA MODE)

Your equipment is provided with 3 Inverter-specific functionalities : the hot START
provides an overcurrent when starting. The arc force provides an overcurrent avoiding
sticking when the electrode enters the bath. The anti-sticking allows you to easily
unstick the electrode without reddening in case of sticking.

Working

Rotate the potentiometer   to switch on the machine and adjust the welding current
desired.

IV /  TIG WELDING

Follow the following steps :

1. Connect the earth clamp on the positive (+) pole.
2. Connect a TIG torch with valve (ref. GYS 044425) on the negative (-) pole.
3. Connect the pipe of the gas bottle and adjust the flow.
4. Adjust the wished current with the potentiometer  .

V /  GENERAL

REMARKS

•

Leave the machine plugged after use to let it cool down.

•

Thermal protection : the indicator lamp   lights up and the cooling takes between 2
and 5 minutes.

VI /  OUR ADVICE

•

Preferably use your welder in a clean room (pollution factor

 3), on  a plane surface

and at least one meter away from the part to weld.

•

Do not move the welder above people or objects.

•

Protect yourself by using a mask.

•

Wear cotton working clothes (blue overall or jeans).

•

Work with protective gloves and a fireproof apron.

•

Remove the electrode from the electrode holder when you don’t use it.

•

Regularly de-dust your welder with an air gun after turning it off.

•

Leave the intakes free to let air flush in and out.

VII /  SECURITY

Caution : electrocution risk
This device must only be used on a single phase power supply with 3 wires including
one neutral connected to earth.

Protect yourself and others. Take precautions against

 :

•

Fumes, fire, burns.

•

Important rain, water steam, humidity.

•

Inflammable environment, inflammable products.

•

Arc radiations.

•

Electric shock.

•

Don’t expose to people using a Pacemaker.

Do not use the welder to thaw pipes.

In TIG welding, handle the gas bottle with care : there are risks if the bottle or the
valve are damaged.

VIII /

ANOMALIES, CAUSES, REMEDIES

Anomalies Causes  Remedies

The device does not
deliver any current and the
yellow indicator lamp of
thermal defect   lights up.

The welder thermal
protection has turned on.

Wait for the end of the
cooling time, around 2 to 5
minutes. The indicator lamp

 turns off.

The display is on   but
the device does not deliver
any current.

The cable of the earth
clamp or electrode holder
is not connected to the
welder.

Check the connections.
