Installation
Transmitting audio data between a computer and a remote console requires two sig-
nal extenders of the
Audio-Transceiver-CAT
series.
Place one signal extender next to a computer. Place the second signal extender next
to the console’s input and output devices.
Connecting a signal extender to a computer
Trans:
Insert the RJ45 plug of the optionally available twisted pair cable. Connect
the other end of the cable with the
Trans.
interface of the signal extender placed at
the workstation.
Digital Audio – Out:
Use a RCA (Cinch) audio cable to connect the computer’s
SPDIF-

interface to this interface.
Digital Audio – In:
Use a RCA (Cinch) audio cable to connect the computer’s
SPDIF-
Out
interface to this interface.
Line In/Micro In:
Use the supplied audio cable to connect the computer’s
Line-Out
interface to this interface.
You can also connect a microphone to this interface.
Line Out/Speaker:
Use the supplied audio cable to connect the computer’s
Line-In
interface to this interface.
You can also connect speakers or a headset to this interface.
Power:
Connect the portable power pack to this interface.
NOTE:
Signal extenders of the
Audio-Transceiver
series automatically convert
incom-
ing
audio signals. The analogue (
Line Out
) or the digital audio signal (
Digital Audio –
Out
) can be used at the remote station.
