they have been damaged. Replace any defective silencers. Before
use, conduct a visual inspection to check the suction nozzle,
fastening elements and the whole unit for signs of wear or damage.
Safety information when starting the machine for the first time
Do not allow the internal combustion engine to run in enclosed
areas in which dangerous carbon monoxide can accumulate.
Only use the leaf vacuum in daylight or in good artificial light.
Always ensure that you have good footing, particularly on slopes.
Only move with the machine at walking pace.
Take special care when changing direction on slopes. Do not use
the machine on excessively steep slopes (max. 30°).
Stop the engine if the machine has to be tipped up.
Never use the leaf vacuum and shredder with damaged guards or
safety grilles or without the guards fitted.
The operator must keep the safe distance from the machine defined
by the struts at all times when working with the pavement sweeping
machine, particularly when turning.
Do not change the settings of the engine or over-rev it.
Start the engine carefully following the manufacturer's instructions.
Ensure that your feet are in an adequate distance from the nozzle.
Never place your hands or feet on or below rotating parts.
Check for damage and carry out the required repairs before
restarting work with the leaf vacuum and shredder.
Stop and switch off the leaf vacuum and shredder immediately if it
suffers any malfunctions. Have all faults rectified immediately.
Switch off the engine if you move away from the leaf vacuum and
shredder or before you refuel it.
Maintenance and storage
Ensure that all nuts, bolts and screws are secure and that the
machine is safe to use.
Never store the leaf vacuum and shredder with petrol in its tank
inside a building in which petrol vapours may come into contact with
naked flames or sparks.
Allow the engine to cool before you place the leaf vacuum and
shredder in an enclosed area.
Keep the engine, exhaust and the area around the fuel tank free of
moss, grass, leaves or escaping grease (oil) to prevent fires.
Replace worn or damaged parts for your own safety.
If the fuel tank needs to be drained, do so outdoors. Protect the
environment!
Intended use
The leaf vacuum and shredder is designed for normal use in site
cleaning.
Any other use will be deemed incorrect.
The motorised shredder is designed for shredding shrubs, plants,
privet hedge and tree cuttings up to the maximum specified
diameter (conifer cuttings may cause blockages).
IMPORTANT
The shredder is not suitable for treating garden soil, for example,
and must never be used for shredding metal parts, stones, soil,
glass, textiles, paper, cardboard or plastic, for example. These
materials will seriously damage the cutting tool. There is also a risk
of stone strike.
If you fail to follow the general regulations and the instructions in
this manual, the manufacturer cannot accept any liability for
damage.
Only use the pavement vacuum machine in dry weather
and on dry surfaces. (Never use it in wet conditions)
The manufacturer cannot accept any liability for resulting damage;
the user bears all the risk in this case. Intended use also includes
compliance with the operating, servicing and maintenance
instructions provided by the manufacturer.
Unauthorised modifications to the leaf vacuum and shredder
exclude any liability on the part of the manufacturer for resulting
damage.
The leaf vacuum and shredder is not suitable for vacuuming
inflammable, explosive, toxic, carcinogenic or other harmful
substances and materials.
Do not vacuum any burning or glowing items such as
cigarettes, matches or the like.
If glass, metal or other materials must be removed from the
catcher bag by hand, always wear gloves to prevent injuries.
Poor lighting means an increased safety risk.
Always ensure there is adequate lighting when working with the
machine.
Waste disposal
The disposal instructions are shown in the pictograms on the
machine or packaging. A description of the various symbols is
provided in the section entitled "Labels".
Requirements for the operator
The operator must have read the operating manual carefully before
using the machine.
Qualifications
Other than detailed induction training by a trained person, no
special qualifications are required for using the machine.
Minimum age
The machine may only be used by people over the age of 16.
It may be used by young people if this use forms part of vocational
training to achieve a qualification under the supervision of a trainer.
Assembly / Starting for the first time
The steering strut is supplied pointing towards the vacuum
unit for transport reasons.
1. Take the leaf vacuum and shredder out of the packaging and
first of all install the steering strut
(Fig. 2) in the correct
position (Fig. 2a).
2. The leaf catcher bag must be attached to the structure shown
in Figure 1 and secured to the frame. The catcher bag is
secured to the filler tube using Velcro tape
(Fig. 5).
3. Then install the nozzle (Fig. 3).
4. The shredder hopper is installed as shown in Fig. 5 .
5. Adjust the suction head (Fig. 9)
Undo the wing nuts (Fig. 9 Arrow) and adjust the suction lip
downwards or upwards. Retighten the suction lip with the wing
nuts.
Refuel
This engine will run perfectly using
conventional petrol (at least
91 RON).
If the machine is not to be used for longer than 30 days, drain the
fuel completely to prevent resinous residues in the carburettor, fuel
filter and tank.
Refuel the machine by opening the tank cover (Fig. 6/Arrow) and
filling the tank with fuel up to a maximum of 2 cm below the filler
neck. Avoid skin contact with fuel. Ensure that you always use
clean, uncontaminated fuel. Always close the tank cover properly
after every refuelling or inspection process.
Take the machine and go to the area you wish to clean.
Check that all parts are secure and check for signs of damage.
Check that the spark plug connector is secure.
The following must be completed before starting the machine.

Before it is started for the first time, the engine must be
filled with engine oil.
•
Add fuel to the tank.
Important note: The engine in your new machine requires a
certain time to run in. This means that the machine will not
work at full capacity until it has been operating for several
hours.
