Basic Troubleshooting Techniques
Problem
Action
Check the battery and modem to battery contacts.
Ensure battery is charged and properly inserted.
Check the USB cable is properly connected.
Prior to performing the following steps, ensure
that All power/battery is disconnected/removed.
Check the connections. If contacts are dirty, clean
with a clean, dry cotton swab or an eraser,
replace/connect power/battery, and recheck.
Check the charging plug connection tabs. If broken,
take modem to an authorized service center.
Ensure antenna is not damaged or broken.
Check the signal strength and battery power level.
If indoors, move closer to a window.
Enter into contrast menu by pressing

Menu key -1.
Display - 2. Contrast
”
and modify the contrast.
Take the modem to an authorized service center.
Ensure mode is set to normal (not in silent mode)
by pressing

Check the Key Beep Volume levels

CAUTION
: In order to avoid a potential loss of battery
performance due to overcharging, please remove the battery when
using with prolonged usage of modem in data transmission mode.
The modem will continue to work correctly, being feed through the
USB cable.
