Transition Assembly
Read all instructions prior to transition assembly.
What You Should Know
DANGER
DO NOT CUT STIFFENER.
If stiffeners do not fit as they should, call the engineering department. Cutting
stiffeners to fit will cause structural damage and possible bin failure. The stiffener must
continue through the transition to the foundation.
1. Transition opening location must be centered on sidewall stiffener and cut a section with 54 x 11 in.
and 2 in. above the concrete on the sidewall sheet.
NOTE:
Make sure to remove stiffener before cutting the sidewall. Make sure to cut the sidewall with
given measurements to ensure proper fit.
2. Cut an access hole for the stiffener in the bottom of the transition housing with 4-3/4 x 7-1/4 in.
NOTE:
Make sure to cut the hole before attaching the transition to the bin.
3. Apply a generous bead of caulk around the perimeter of the opening.
4. Position transition assembly over the transition opening.
5. Fasten the side of the transition collar to the bin using self-tapping screws.
NOTE:
Field drill the top of the transition collar to line up with the plenum bolt holes in the bin.
6. Field drill the stiffener bolt through the transition collar so they are aligned.
7. Cut a hole in the top center of the transition housing with 7-1/4 x 8 in. measurement for the stiffener
to enter.
NOTE:
Make sure to trim the bottom edge of entrance collar to provide clear access for stiffener.
8. Place stiffener through transition and attach to sidewall.
NOTE:
Ensure to locate the stiffener anchor on anchor bolt.
