Note: 

You can also connect the earphones directly to the device. If you do this,
however, the remote control will not work.
Excessive volume can be dangerous to yourself and other road users.
Listen at a volume which still allows you to hear outside noises such as
horns, emergency vehicles and police cars.
This portable CD player with headphones meets the requirements set
out in Articles LL44.5 and 6 of the German safety regulations. 
The output of the device guarantees the best possible sound at medium
volume. Prolonged listening at loud volumes can damage your hearing.
