Remove all packaging material from the appliance and put it on a heat and water resistant, stable
and flat surface.
Put the plug in an earthed wall socket.
Brewing Coffee
Before first use and after the appliance has not been used for a longer time, operate the appli-
ance two or three times with maximum water content and without coffee powder. Then rinse the
filter and the jug with hot water.
The
brewing unit (2)
must be assembled correctly on top of the hot water pipe inside of water
tank during operation and when appliance is still hot.
Make sure the appliance is
switched off
and
cooled down
before filling the water tank.
Remove the water tank lid (1) and fill the water tank (9) with cold water. The water level indicator
shows the number of brewed cups with approx. 125 ml of brewed coffee per cup.
Insert into the filter holder (4) a paper filter of type
1x4
and fold the sealed edges. The paper filter
should not stand over the rim of filter holder. Therefore the paper filter can be slightly pressed
down by hand. Place the filter holder lid (3) on top of filter holder (see picture 2).
Put desired amount of pre-ground coffee in the paper filter. Per cup approx. 5 - 7 grams filter-fine
grinded coffee.
Make sure that the lever of
drip-stop
shows to the position “
open
” (see picture 2), to ensure that
the coffee can flow into the glass-jug.
Slide the filter holder (4) into the bracket for filter holder at the appliance. The filter holder (4) will
be locked to the appliance by means of a magnet situated at the bracket of filter holder (see pic-

red
while appliance is on.
When all the water has passed through the filter, the jug can be removed from the appliance.
Press the On-/Off-push switch (6) one time, to switch off appliance after use. The red LED will go
off.
Let the switched off appliance cool down for some minutes before you start brewing coffee again.
Fill the glass jug (5) only in cold condition.
The brewed coffee can be kept warm in the glass jug (5) on the warming plate at serving temper-
ature. The appliance switches off automatically after approx. 40 minutes.
Attention
: Do not leave the empty glass jug in the switched on appliance. The glass jug may get
very hot and can break.
Drip-Stop
The filter holder (4) has a drip-stop feature (10).(picture 10). When the drip-stop is set to close
position, no liquid can run from filter holder. The drip-stop may only be closed for 15 seconds dur-
ing running brewing cycle to avoid overflow of filter holder.
At end of brewing cycle the drip-stop can be closed to avoid dripping from filter holder when glass
jug has been taken out.
Make sure that drip-stop is at open position when starting the brewing cycle.
The drip-stop is closed when the lever is at position below handle of filter holder. Drip-stop is at
open position (liquid can run through filter holder) when the lever shows to the left side of lid of
filter holder (see picture 2).

scale are lengthening of the brewing time and increased noise during brewing.
The appliance should be descaled after each thirty to forty brewing cycles
.
For descaling a white vinegar solution may be used containing vinegar and water in a mixing
proportion of 1 to 3.
Fill the water tank up to the maximum amount with the vinegar solution and switch the appliance
on.
Let the appliance run until the amount of one cup has been brewed and switch the appliance of.
Wait for up to 30 minutes for the vinegar solution to descale the appliance.
Switch the appliance on and let the appliance complete the brewing cycle.
Let the appliance complete two to three more brewing cycles with fresh, cold water (without
coffee powder) to remove all vinegar residues.
