Wear safety goggles when
servicing hydraulic system
to reduce risk of getting
hydraulic fluid in your eyes.
The hydraulic fluid level should be checked before
each use of the Model T28192.
Replace the fluid after every 150 hours of
operation, if it smells burnt, or if it is contaminated
by water. Water contamination can build up over
time and can be identified as a tan discoloration
in the fluid.
To check/add hydraulic fluid:
1. DISCONNECT MACHINE FROM POWER!
2. Put on safety glasses and latex or nitrile
gloves.
6. Re-install plug.

5. Re-install plug, remove it, then check oil level
on dipstick.
— If fluid level is between high and low marks
on dipstick (see
Figure 19), proceed to
Step 6.
— If fluid level is below low mark on dipstick
(see
Figure 19), add required amount of
hydraulic fluid.
— If fluid level is above high mark on dipstick
(see
Figure 19), drain required amount of
hydraulic fluid.
Hot Fluid! Do not remove hydraulic fluid tank
plug just after using log splitter. You could be
severely burned by hot hydraulic fluid
escaping from tank. Allow log splitter to
cool sufficiently before removing plug.
3. Use transport handle to position log splitter
vertically (see
Figure 18). Place wood block
underneath hand guard to keep weight off
hydraulic control lever.
4. Remove hydraulic fluid tank plug (see
Figure 18) and wipe dipstick with clean rag.
