OPERATING THE CROWN
The crown has 4 positions.
A.
Normal Operation (wearing position) [
↻↺
] – this is the normal position for your
watch with the crown fully screwed in to ensure water resistance.
B.
Manual Winding Position [
↻
] – this is the position closest to the case and should
only be used if the watch is fully stopped. The watch automatically goes to this
position when the crown is fully unscrewed. You can then wind the watch by
rotating the crown clockwise. In order to avoid over-winding, only wind it 20 turns
and then let the automatic movement do the rest. Do not wind the watch
counterclockwise as that can damage the mechanism.
Tip:
You can skip this step by simply giving your watch a few shakes until the
seconds hand starts moving.
C.
Quick Date Set Position [
↻
] – this is the middle position of the crown (one click) and
lets you jump the date wheel, one date at a time. To change the date, in the middle
position, wind the crown clockwise. Do not wind the crown counter-clockwise as
that can damage the mechanism.
D.
Time Set Position [
↻↺
] – this is the furthest out position in the movement (two
clicks) and lets you set the current time. Do not use a lot of force to get into this
position. Once in this position, push the crown clockwise or counter clockwise until
you get to the correct time.
Tip:
Do not confuse noon and midnight when setting the time.
