10. Disconnect the hydraulic hose (1) attached to an
elbow fitting (2) on the hydraulic lift cylinder rod-
end (A). Use a small collection container to
capture any fluid.
Planter Damage Risk
When installing the check valve note the
orientation (B) as indicated the following
illustration. Failure to install the check valve
in the correct orientation will result in
significant planter damage from an
unbalanced planter at risk for toppling and falling.
11. On the hydraulic hose (1), attach the adapter (3),
check valve (4) in the correct orientation (B), and
adapter (5). Then, attach adapter (5) to the elbow
fitting (2) on the rod-end (A) on the hydraulic
cylinder.
12. Wipe down any hydraulic fluid on the planter.
13. Attach a shipping caution tag (6) on the hydraulic
cylinder.
14. Repeat steps 10 through 13 on the outer right-
side hydraulic lift cylinder.
Close-Out
Once the shipping check valve kit has been installed,
the planter should only be operated for the purpose
for trailer loading. Your hydraulic pressure should be
at the lowest pressure. Hydraulic movements should
be slow and careful to produce smooth, even
hydraulic movements.
Before operating the planter:

Remove all tools, parts, materials, and debris from the
work area.

Wipe down any hydraulic fluid and clean-up any spills.

Loading Planter on Trailer
Crushing Hazard
Failure to follow these trailer loading and
unloading procedures can result in the planter
becoming unbalanced. A falling planter can
cause severe injury or death.
Frame Damage Risk
Do not raise/lower the wing gauge wheels at
any time once the shipping chain has been
installed. While the shipping chain is installed
the planter lift hydraulic system should only be
operated as “Center” or “Center Lift” or planter
frame damage can occur.
