Row Unit Shut Off
10HD and 25P Series row units are designed to permit
alternate row spacing, which requires disabling the rows
not used. This involves three steps:
1. Identify the rows to shut off.
Refer to Figure 109

To prevent a small amount of seed from becoming
unavailable for planting close seed tube at box. Install
plugs
at the top of seed tubes at unused rows. See
page 111 for plug ordering information.
2. Lock up the row unit to reduce wear (optional).

On twin-row drills, openers are installed with short
and long opener mounts. If locking up unused rows of
a twin-row drill, shut off the rear (long mount) rows. On
single-row drills with mid-length mounts, any rows
may be locked up.
3. Disengage the meter drive to reduce meter wear.
