Leveling Drill
This operation requires a tape measure.
1. Move drill to level hard ground, ideally a paved sur-
face or concrete pad. Accurate measurement for
side-to-side level will be difficult on open soil.
2. Set/check eyebolts.
If leveling for the first time, or if eyebolt adjustments
have never been made for local conditions, check
that the front eyebolt is at the factory setting, and the
average of the reveal (thread height above weld-
ment) on the rear eyebolt is within
1
4
in (13mm) of
that. See “
3. Re-phase Cylinders.
Check that all three cylinders are operating in paral-
” on page 15. This
step also assures that the system is fully charged
and bled.
4. Check Side-to-Side Level.
Raise drill fully and set circuit to neutral. Measure
from the rear top edge of each side frame to the
ground. If the measurements agree within
3
16
in
(5mm), continue at step 5.
5. Check Front-to-Back Level
Front to back level is not critical on this drill model.
The rear wheels are off the ground during planting,
and planting level is controlled by the row units.
Fully raise the drill. At full lift, measure the height of
the top front tool bar and compare it to the rear
height measured at step 2. If it is more than 1in
(2.5cm) higher than the rear, or more than 2in (5cm)
lower, adjust the rear eyebolt.
