SPEED CONTROL BELL CRANK
The speed control bell crank holds the speed
control rod in position after a speed has been
set. The spring washers may become loose
with normal wear. If the speed control rod
does not stay firmly in position, adjust the
speed control bell crank. See Figure 11.
To adjust:
1. Remove cover, fully compress the
helical spring lock washers with lock
nut and then back lock nut off, one
quarter turn.
2. If the speed control rod is still too loose,
tighten lock nut by small increments
until it holds its position. Tightening the
lock nut too much will not allow the
speed control rod to move at all.
3. Align notch in left hand side of cover
with bolt and secure with knob.
IMPORTANT:
NEVER spray unit with high
pressure water or store unit outdoors. Store
mower in a cool, dry, protected location.
Cleaning
Clean unit thoroughly with mild soap and low
pressure water. Brush off dirt and debris from
all surfaces. Touch-up all scratched surfaces
to prevent rust. Matching touch-up paint is
available from your Gravely Dealer. Do not use
abrasives, solvents, or harsh cleaners.
Inspection
Inspect mower and repair or replace worn or
damaged parts to avoid delays when
beginning use again.
Regularly check all hardware and keep
fasteners tight. Know unit is in safe working
condition.
Grass Bag
Wash out grass bag and allow to dry before
storage. Grass bag may be stored in position
on mower.
Engine
When storing unit for extended periods of
time, remove all fuel from tank and carburetor
(run dry). Refer to engine manual.
