landings possible, but the model remains fully controllable. The speed brake function
is controlled using the MX-

10 transmitter’s left-hand two-position switch. The software

is  available  as  a  free  download  from  the  Graupner/SJ  website  under

V-VENTURE

Order No. 9910.100 to 9910.RTF.

The Centre of Gravity range

The safe C.G. range for the

V-VENTURE

is 75 to 85 mm, measured from the leading

edge of the wing. Provided that the recommended LiPo battery is used, the model will
balance correctly without further adjustment.

For safety’s sake you may wish to check

the CG by supporting the model on two fingertips at the stated point under both wing
roots: the model should then balance level.

The first flight

It  is  important  to  wait  for  a  day  with  little  or  no  breeze  for  test-flying  the  completed
model,  as  it  is  much  too  difficult  for  a  beginner  to  control  the  model  in  windy  con-
ditions.  A  good flying  site is a  flat  grassy field,  ideally  with a gentle slope  into  wind.
Never launch the model between buildings or trees, as the turbulent air would make
the model hard to control. If you are a complete newcomer to model flying, we strong-
ly recommend that you ask an experienced modeller to help by checking the model
and standing by your side during the first few flights.
Switch  the  motor  on,  and  launch  the  model  smoothly  into  any  breeze,  keeping  the
wings  level;  don’t  just  throw  it.  Trotting  forward  for  a  few  paces  produces  enough
speed for a safe launch. The model’s nose should be angled up slightly (about 15°)
when the model is launched.
It is essential to trim the model for straight and level flight immediately after the initial
launch; this is accomplished using the trim buttons below and adjacent to the trans-
mitter  sticks.  Adjust  the  aileron  trim  buttons  until  the  model  shows  no  tendency  to
veer to one side. Adjust the elevator trim until the model climbs steadily under power,
and exhibits a flat glide with the motor off. Always land the model directly into wind,
with  the  motor  switched  off.  Apply  slight  up-elevator  just  before  touch-down  to  slow
the model down. Always land directly into wind.

All of us at GRAUPNER/SJ Modellbau wish you many fine flights with your new
