Operating instructions for the model U-16 Emden, Order No. 92303
Description of the original
The German Navy's U-16 submarine served as the design for this model. The model's length was shortened
and a stern thruster was installed to optimize the model's maneuverability.
Model description
The submarine's real static dive function is accomplished with a hoist motor that controls a ballast tank. The
boat begins to submerge due to its increased weight. Surfacing takes place by the opposite effect. This makes it
possible for the model to be suspended in water. Curved travel is accomplished by way of a small traverse
thruster at the model's stern. This makes it possible for the model to turn in-place.
The drive battery can be quickly and easily recharged because the switch socket is also the charger socket.
The submarine's small size makes it possible to operate it without difficulty in a bathtub or a rather large
aquarium tank.
