Expanding bandwidth for Aurora products
The “Expansion by bandwidth” feature is supported on K2 Storage Systems that store media from
both K2 products and Aurora products. If the storage system contains media from Aurora products
and you want to retain that media, additional steps are required, as follows:
1. Before starting the file system expansion, using Notepad or another text editor, open the following
file:
V:\VolumeConfig.xml
2. To the existing XML content, add lines with XML tags
<MainFolder>
and
<AtticFolder>
to specify the main folder and attic folder for your Aurora media. For example, if the main folder
is “VibrintAVFiles” and the attic folder is “VibrintAttic”, the resulting XML content is as follows:
<VolumeConfig>
<Type>K2 Storage</Type>
<Model>Grass Valley PFR700</Model>
<StripeSize>512</StripeSize>
<Security>Not Supported</Security>
<MainFolder>V:\VibrintAVFiles</MainFolder>
<AtticFolder>V:\VibrintAttic</AtticFolder>
</VolumeConfig>
3. Save and close the
VolumeConfig.xml
file.
4. Proceed with bandwidth expansion process.
