Configuration
Video Path Processing Overview
The 8960DEC provides video processing controls for the decoding process.
How the video data is processed depends on what line the video is on. The
following groups of lines have controls on the 8960DEC:

All Lines
•
Active Picture Lines
•
Active Picture and VBI Lines
•
VBI Lines
•
Data Lines
An important feature of the 8960DEC is the ability to define the start of
active video (SAV). The 8960DEC allows you to define the line number for
SAV then use the unused lines of active video for external data insertion.
The active video lines (SAV1–SAV4) on the 8960DEC that can be defined as
the start of active picture and made available for data insertion in both 525
and 625 modes are given in

The 8960DEC module can be configured using the following controls:
•
Onboard module controls consisting of a Function rotary switch with a
first (2nd LED off) and second bank (2nd LED on) of settings and a
paddle switch,

The remote control and monitoring web page interface, and/or
•
An external control panel (not all configuration controls are available).

sections of this manual.
