Boats equipped with two batteries have a battery select switch to indicate which battery will
be used. The switch is labeled “1”, “2”, “Both” and “Off”. In normal use alternate between the
battery “1” and battery “2” positions. The battery that is selected will provide power to the engine
and accessories. In an emergency situation when neither battery will start the engine, the select
switch allows you to combine the power of both batteries by selecting “Both”. However, once the
engine is started, you should return the switch to the “1” or “2” position. See

for a diagram.
C A U T I O N
Never turn the battery select switch to the “OFF” position with the engine running or the
charging system could be damaged.
