We recommend that the release settings be checked by an
electronic binding device.
The release settings must be determined by a technician in order
to be able to make the proper adjustments according to ISO/DIN
11088.
4.1. Categorizing the skier
This categorization must be determined in a discussion between
the skier and the technician in order to find the different parameters
that influence the setting of the binding. These parameters are as
follows:
4.1. Adjusting the settings:
st
Determine the code of the skier according to Table 1. In the 1
nd
column find out the weight of the skier and in the 2 column the
height. If these are not found on the same row, use the code from
the next row up.
This code corresponds to a type 1 skier.
- Go down one row for a type 2 skier.
- Go down two rows for a type 3 skier.
Go up one row for skiers 50 years of age and older or younger than
10 years.
After considering the type and age of the skier, the adjustment can
be decreased or increased in the following cases:
A) Skiers who have satisfactory experience with lower settings in
relation to the manufacturer's recommendation can request
settings based on their experience.
B) Skiers who have experience without early releasing can
request the settings to be adjusted up to 15% lower than the
manufacturer's recommendation or up one row in Table 1.
C) Skiers who have specific qualities, e.g., neutral ski stance,
defensive behavior, a high sense of responsibility, etc., can
request the settings to be adjusted up to 15% lower than the
manufacturer's recommendation or up one row in Table 1.
D) Skiers who have experience with early releasing can request
the settings to be adjusted up to 15% higher than the
manufacturer's recommendation or down one row in Table 1.
Skiers can request different adjustments for turning or falling
forward.
After you have determined the code for the skier, you can read the
adjustment settings in Table 1. For these ski bindings, the
ski boot
sole length is 305 mm in general.
Adjust the front and back release settings according to Point 4.
4.2. How to troubleshoot in case of uneven release:
It is possible for the binding to release unevenly. If the release
settings are too far to the right or left and are outside the tolerance
values, this can be attributed to an adjustment error or dirt on the
release mechanism. For proper adjustment, the binding must
spring back with a light tap of the hand (function check!).

Settings for type 3 should not be used for skiers weighing less than 22 kg.
5. Checking:
The proper adjustment of the release settings must always be checked by
a technician with an electronic binding adjustment device. The technician
must heed the following points:
Figs. 3 and 4:
* Adjustment point indicator (C) of the binding for side release.
Fig. 5:
* Pivot point zero indicator (E) of the binding for rear release.
Machine zero indicator and binding zero indicator must agree.
