Before Using for the First Time

Before using your Toaster for the first time, make sure it is clean (see “Cleaning and

Maintenance”) as it comes into direct contact with bread. Check that no objects
have fallen into the slots.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Plug the Toaster into a wall outlet.

Place the bread slices in the Slots (for French bread, cut a loaf shorter than the

slot, then cut it in two pieces along its length). The maximum thickness allowed
for bread is 38mm (1 ½”).

Press down the Power Lever until it stops and the Frames inside the slots will

tighten around the bread in order to keep it away from the quartz heating
elements. The Lever will stay in the lower position while the toasting process
continues. If the Lever comes up immediately, check if the Toaster is plugged in,
as the bread carriage cannot be locked if the Toaster is not plugged in correctly.

If necessary, change the browning intensity to obtain more or less toasted

bread, by adjusting the Browning Control Dial to one of the degrees marked
from 1 (least brown) to 6 (most brown). The higher the number you choose, the
more toasted the bread will be.

When the toasting process is complete, the Lever returns to its original position

and the Frames release the bread.

ADJUSTABLE BROWNING SETTINGS

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

A. Stop: The toasting process usually continues for the amount of time selected

with the Adjustable Browning Switch but you can press the Stop button to stop
the toasting process at any time. The bread will then pop up.

B. For some breads, such as bagels or baguettes, you may prefer toasting just

one side. Press the Oneside button to toast only one side of the bread.

C. Bagel: Optimal setting for bagels.

D. Defrost: The Defrost button allows you to insert frozen bread into the toaster.

Select the Browning setting and press Defrost and the toasting time will be
modified to first thaw the bread and then toast accordingly.

 E. Reheat: The Reheat button heats the toast on a very low setting, without

adding any additional browning to the bread.
