■
Do not operate the device in a very damp environment or in the
vicinity of combustible material.
■
Always check the device for damage before putting it into op-
eration. Only use it if the kettle, base station, mains cable and
plug have no signs of damage!
■
Never leave the kettle unattended when it is switched on.
■
Do not make any changes to the device. Also do not replace
the mains cable yourself. Only ever have repairs to the kettle,
base station, cable and plug carried out in a specialist work-
shop. Contact the customer service department if necessary.
Incorrect repairs may pose considerable risks to the user.
Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device
■
Always place the base station on a dry, level,
fi
rm and heat-
resistant surface.
■
Lay the cable in such a way that it does not present a trip haz-
ard. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or
kitchen counters. Others may become caught and pull the de-
vice down.
■
Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid
over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot sur-
faces.
■
Use the kettle only with the base station provided. Do not use
the base station with other devices.
■
Do not use any other accessories.
■
Never exceed the maximum
fi
ll level (note
Max
marking on the
water level indicator!). If the kettle is over
fi
lled, boiling water
could escape from the pouring spout.
■
Do not operate the device without water in it or with less water
than is required to reach the
Min
marking. If this does happen,
the device switches off automatically. In this case, allow the de-
vice to cool down before you pour in cold water and switch on
the device.
■
Maintain a suf
fi
cient distance from heat sources such as hobs
or ovens in order not to damage the device. Do not place any
naked
fl
ames, e.g. burning candles, in the immediate vicinity of
the device, cable or plug.
