Within the next 20 sec. close the COM port in Hyperterm by using the icon

then change to the HEX Flasher and start the programming.
As soon as the programming is finished, change again to Hyperterm, wait 10 sec. and
connect again to the COM port (for example by using the icon
). Start he monitor
mode once more (see also 5.2.1 on page 35).

Software Update (Antenna Software)
It is possible to proceed an update of the software of the integrated interpreters with a
PC using its serial interface. After turning on the device, the integrated loader checks
for 10 seconds whether a software update is desired or not. If no update shall be pro-
ceeded, it runs the normal operational program.
Within these 10 seconds the incoming data are checked vor validity.
NOTE!
Only the following program can be used for the update!
5.4.1
Configurationg The Update Program
This program for updating the antenna software is a 32 bit version for Microsoft® Win-
dows®. On demand, we will send you this program per e-mail or on CD. Therefore,
contact us per e-mail, phone, fax or letter using the adress on the title.
The program does not have to be installed. You only have to copy it to your harddisk
and execute it. Proceed as follows:
1.
Insert the CD into your ROM/DVD drive.
2.
Open the Windows Explorer and navigate to the CD.
3.
Copy the directory ST-Flash including all sub directories and data to your hard-
disk (for example in the folder Progrmms).
4.
If you use a Windows version older than XP, the writing access has to be permit-
ted for both documents, Go to the newly created directory Programs\ST-Flash
and mark the files
ST10-Flasher.ini
and
Command.log
. Call up the fuction
Properties using the data menu of the explorer and deactivate the attribute
read-only

In order to start the program double click on the file

Proceeding A Software Update
While the software update is active, no other programms may block the serial interface
(COM port). Therefore disconnect your terminal program (for example Hyperterm).
Connect the antenna to your PC. Run on your PC the update program as described in
section 5.4.1 on page 47.
